‘Pak nuclear weapons can fall into terrorists’ hands’
Daily Times Monitor
LAHORE: International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Muhammad ElBaradei has said Pakistan's nuclear weapons can fall into the hands of terrorists due to the prevailing instability in the South Asian country, a private TV channel reported.
According to the channel, ElBaradei told an American TV channel that Pakistan, India and Israel should participate in every step taken for nuclear disarmament. He said Pak-India nuclear issue could be resolved under the ‘international framework’. He said the international community would have to remove sanctions on Iran to hold dialogue with it, adding that Iran was not in a position to make a nuclear weapon any time soon. He said serious defects had been observed in the US command and control system. “Aircrafts carrying nuclear warheads passed over the US several times but nobody could detect them,” he added.
