LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri on Wednesday asked the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government to guarantee justice for the victims of 2014 Model Town tragedy, and demanded that PML-N chief Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah be imprisoned. “The culprits of the Model Town massacre roam free. 14 people were martyred. The sons and daughters of this land were dragged and lynched and now it is PTI’s first test to guarantee justice to the victims and their families,” Qadri said while speaking to the media at the Allama Iqbal International Airport upon return from Turkey. Qadri also demanded Prime Minister Imran Khan to fulfill his promises. “Khan was standing shoulder-to-shoulder with us as we demanded justice for the victims and suspension of police officers involved in the massacre. Now, as PM, it is his first test to put his words to action,” The PAT chief said. He also demanded that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif and party leader Rana Sanaullah be imprisoned. “Now that the government of murderers and thieves is replaced by those who believe in honesty and justice, I demand imprisonment of Shehbaz Sharif and Rana Sanaullah.” He said that he has returned to the country to seek justice for Model Town tragedy victims and that the PTI has to fulfill its promises. “It is PTI’s responsibility to fulfill its promises and I truly believe that they will.”
