RAWALPINDI: Two convicted terrorists were hanged in Sahiwal Jail on Tuesday. “Today another two hardcore terrorists, who were involved in committing heinous offences relating to terrorism, including killing of civilians, attacking the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, polio vaccination teams and employees of a non-government organisation (NGO) have been executed at High Security Prison Sahiwal. These convicts were tried by military courts,” the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a press statement. Muhammad Shahid Omar s/o Zaman Khan was an active member of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He was involved in attacking armed Forces of Pakistan, law enforcement agencies, polio vaccination teams, employees of an NGO and killing of civilians. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence. Fazl-e-Haq s/o Shahdad convict was also an active member of TTP. He kidnapped and amputated the hands of four policemen. He was also involved in killing of innocent civilians and attacking law enforcement agencies, which resulted in death of civilian Abdul Wahab and Police Constable Saifur Rehman. The convict admitted his offences before the magistrate and the trial court. He was awarded death sentence.
