DADU: Mercury rose to 52 degree Celsius in Dadu city and its surroundings on Sunday as Dadu experienced the hottest day of the summer season. Five people in Dadu, ten in Johi, KN Shah and Mehar towns felt unconscious in Dadu district due to scorching heat. Due to blistering heat, people shut their shops at Shahi Bazar, Rai Bazar, Resham Gali, Babar Bazar, jeweller’s bazaar and cloths market, station road; new bus stand, old bus stand and Chhano Shahabad while people remained at doors after lunch time. At least five people fell unconscious at different parts of city due to scorching heat and they were admitted at government and none government hospitals. Civil surgeon civil hospital Dadu Dr Abdul Hameed Meerani said that five people related with heat stroke were reported at heat stroke centre, at civil hospital Dadu but their health condition was relatively stable. He said that drips, ORS, injections, cool water were a major cause. Health department and district administration ha\vr not established the heat stroke centres and water sabeels in Bazars in city to protect the people from heatstroke and scorching heat. While, mercury rose to 49 degree Celsius at KN Shah, Mehar and Johi city and 10 people fell unconscious, reported at various government and private hospitals in KN Shah, Mehar and Johi towns.
