The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday directed private schools to stop recovery of advance fees of more than one month from students. A SHC bench comprised by Justice Aqeel Abbasi heard a petition against privately owned schools for recovering advance fees of more than one month from the students. The bench expressed displeasure over private schools asking students to pay two to three months’ fees in advance. You people have even left behind the tax department, the bench remarked. It asked if school owners pay three months’ salaries in advance to their teachers? The bench ordered school managements to issue new fees challan to students’ until April 15.
