Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif underwent multiple medical tests at the Services Hospital in Lahore on Sunday, a private TV channel reported. A medical board will later examine the reports of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, while a request for his cardiac examination has been sent to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC). Sharif has been allocated a VIP room at the Services Hospital where he was shifted from Kot Lakhpat jail on Saturday, following the approval of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. On January 25, the provincial government had formed a medical board to examine the health of Nawaz Sharif. The board comprised cardiac experts from Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC), Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) and Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC). The board conducted a detailed examination of Nawaz Sharif on January 30 inside the prison where he is lodged following his conviction in the Al Azizia mills case filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB). In a report submitted to the Punjab Home Department, the medical board had recommended that the former prime minister be shifted to a hospital for medical examination.
