Two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will be a part of three panels at World Economic Forum at Davos, Switzerland, a local publication reports. The filmmaker has participated before at the international prestigious forum. In 2016, the filmmaker spoke at the forum about her Oscar winning documentary on honour killings in Pakistan, “A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness”.”I’ve seen my work being used for affecting government policy,” she said during at the event, where she also showed some footage from her documentaries exploring the human cost of conflict. This year she will be taking the participants behind the scenes of her latest documentary, ‘Freedom Fighters’, which is an inspiring story of three Pakistani women taking a stand against violence at the hands of men. Chinoy also shared pictures with Bollywood director Karan Johar and Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan, who she met in Davos.
