Former Khyber PakhtunKhwa (KP) chief minister Pervez Khattak on Tuesday said that only a traitor or a mad person can oppose the construction of dams. “We need thousands of small and big dams in Pakistan. Only a mad person can oppose it,” said the defence minister. In response to a question regarding his promise of building 300 dams in KP, the former chief minister said that he promised to build 300 small hydropower stations not dams. Commenting on the supplementary budget presented by the PTI government today, he said that no taxes have been imposed on poor. He further said that the govt will accommodate those Biharis and Afghans who are living in Pakistan for last 60 years.
