LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz Sharif, daughter of the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has been included in the world’s 11 powerful women. The list titled ‘11 Powerful Women We Met Around the World in 2017‘ includes influential and powerful women in the world which span across industries ranging from fashion, beauty and travel to finance, science, politics and the arts. “She had recently emerged as the right hand of her father, the former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. But corruption charges are clouding her rapid rise,” said Kyle Crichton who compiled the list for NY Times. The list also includes other prominent personalities Manal al-Sharif, Emma Morano, Margot Wallstrom, and Henda Ayari. “The people we look for usually do not run countries, or headline blockbuster movies, or write best sellers. We leave those to the appropriate sections of the newspaper. Our subjects are more likely to have just emerged from prison, or written their 1,547th novel,” Crichton wrote in the introduction to her list. After her father’s ouster, Maryam Nawaz has been routinely seen as a campaigner for her father’s politics and calls herself a political worker of the party.
