Islamabad: Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir ordered to shift Nawaz Sharif to Adiala Jail and her daughter to Sihala rest house. Yesterday, on July 13, convicted ex-premier Nawaz and his daughter, Maryam, arrived at Lahore in a private flight, Y-423. National Accountability Bureau(NAB) team was present at the spot, which arrested them and took their passports into custody. Nawaz and Maryam were transferred from Lahore to Islamabad in a chartered plane, from where they were sent to Adiala jail, where a team of doctors cleared them and filed their medical history. After medical inspection, Nawaz was shifted to a high-security room while Maryam was shifted to women’s barracks. Nawaz will be given B category in jail only on orders of chief secretary after Nawaz has filed the application for it. While cases regarding Al-Aziza and Hill-metal reference are being heard in the Accountability court. The accountability court notified that as Nawaz is in jail, the court’s hearing will take place from Adiala Jail. Whereas, Judge Muhammad Bashir reached the Federal Judicial Complex in presence of NAB, while media was not allowed to enter. The Judge ordered that Nawaz should be shifted to the Adiala Jail while Maryam to the Sihala rest house, which he regarded as ‘sub-jail’. Earlier Nawaz and Maryam left London for Lahore via Abu-Dhabi, where their flight faced a situational delay. At last, the plane took off from Abu-Dhabi at 6pm and landed in Lahore at 9pm. Earlier, Shahbaz Sharif, the former chief minister Punjab, appealed, ”Everyone should reach the airport as it is the historic day, the day of when oppression and violence is to be defeated, we have to welcome our leader Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, who left his ailing wife and is coming to the country”. As per details, they were supposed to stop the workers at a kilometre distance from the airport. Crackdown At one side the supporters were ready for the welcome if their supremo while on the other side the police crackdown on PML-N workers continued. 50 of PML-N supporters were arrested from Ferzwala Factory Area. Whereas, police also raided the homes of UC -Vice Chairman, Khalid Habib Khan and Councillor Chaudhary Khadim Hussain Gujjar in Awan Town.t At Rawalpindi, similar incidents took place and about hundred workers were taken into custody. While at Bhawalpur former federal minister, Baligh-ur-Rehman’s home was surrounded by the security forces with doors locked. NAB Chairman, Justice Javed Iqbal stated earlier that matters relating to the arrest of Maryam-Nawaz duo will be dealt according to the warrant, anyone trying to put hurdles in making the arrest possible would be taken to the task. Phone service suspended Phone service remained suspended till night. Interior minister Punjab said that it was done because of security issues. Before that security authorities had written to the interior ministry that owing to security issues mobile service will be suspended in Lahore Airport, Walten City, Shahdara, and Nawab Town Area from 3pm to 11pm. Hospitals were put on red alert, given the situation that any sort of mishap can happen during the handling of the situation. The Health Department had cautioned the hospitals to keep things ready if a situation arises. Call for prayers Nawaz contacted her mother before leaving London and asked for her permission to come to Pakistan. He also asked her to pray for him and his daughter. She prayed for his son and granddaughter and asked to recite Holy Quran before leaving. Before boarding on to the plane, Nawaz met his wife and put his hand over her head, while Maryam accompanied her.
