LAHORE: Law Minister Rana Sanullah on Friday said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and chairman Imran Khan are ‘stooges’ of the establishment. “PTI members boast in their constituencies about strong ties between the party and the establishment. PTI and Imran are stooges of the establishment,” Rana Sanullah said while speaking to the media outside Punjab Assembly. The law minister continued: “Prior to Khawaja Asif’s disqualification, Imran said that a big wicket will fall soon and now, we are hearing that the PTI knew about the verdict. This is an insult to the judiciary’s identity.” Read: Khawaja Asif disqualified for life He continued that the former PM Nawaz Sharif and PML-N respect the judiciary and that Nawaz has never raised objections against any of CJP Justice Nisar’s verdicts. “Nawaz only has objections over CJP’s comments against party leaders,” he added. Commenting on Justice Athar Minallah, who announced the verdict of Asif’s ouster, Sanaullah said that he knows the judge in personal capacity and that he is a supporter of democracy. “His verdict is being presented as controversial.” The lawmaker also said that the only way Imran’s party could win the general elections 2018 is by “disqualifying PML-N from the elections on technical grounds.”
