LAHORE: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to federal government and Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) on an application seeking action against disqualified ex- Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Safdar for their alleged speeches against the judiciary. He pointed out that in recent past on January 6, in public gathering held in Kot Momin, Nawaz Sharif and his daughter again criticized the apex court judges of SC. Nawaz Nawaz Sharif said, `Dual standard of justice in country unacceptable, while Maryam uttered, ` Justice also will be restored one day.’ He requested to order PEMRA to ban speeches of Nawaz Sharif and his daughter from playing on tv channels. He also requested to direct PEMRA to ensure stoppage of anti-judiciary speeches and licenses of those TV channels be suspended which gave coverage to the anti-judiciary and hate speeches.
