ISLAMABAD: Senator A. Rehman Malik in his recent statement, on Tuesday, claimed that United States’ National Security Agency (NSA) is spying on Pakistan’s military and civilian leadership.
He expressed concerns over NSA spying on Pakistan’s civilian and military leadership, said “It is a malicious act, putting our national security at risk”.
“It is a highly condemnable act,” said the Senator while chairing the meeting of Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior and Narcotics.
He said that Pakistan lacked adequate national laws for tackling such attacks. However he urged National Tele-communication Corporation (NTC) and PTA to brief the committee in its next meeting about measures taken “to stop such cyber threats”.
He pointed out a malware codenamed SECONDATE, which according to him was used by NSA to spy on Pakistan leadership. He urged government to probe US regarding the case.
