TANK: A former head of a local aman committee was found murdered in Mulazi area on Sunday. Unidentified gunmen had kidnapped him two weeks ago. According to the first information report (FIR) lodged by Sifatullah, a resident of Kiri Wadati, his brother, Habibur Rehman, alias Wata had gone missing two weeks ago. “Rehman’s body was spotted near a tubewell outside the village on Sunday by some villagers. His throat had been slit. A letter was found near the body,” the FIR stated. “The letter stated that Rehman had been murdered because he was a spy of the government,” Sifatullah stated in the FIR. Police said the attackers had murdered Rehman somewhere else and then threw his body near the village. They said they had launched an operation to arrest the murderers. Charsadda: Police claimed on Sunday to have seized a huge amount of drugs from a vehicle. According to police, 102 kilogrammes of hashish and eight kgs of heroin were seized from the vehicle. “We had received a tip-off from a police informer that drugs were being smuggled in a car. We motioned a suspected vehicle to stop at the checkpost. When we searched the car, we found 102 kgs of hashish and eight kgs of heroin hidden inside it,” police said. They said the vehicle driver, Muhammad Tariq, had been arrested. An FIR has been registered against the accused.
