Catering to education in the age of rapid advancements, Lahore Grammar School International (LGSI) launched a Guest Speaker Series as part of the Extended Curriculum Programme, featuring its first keynote speaker, actor and comedian Adeel Hashmi. The session was held at the campus auditorium, where International Baccalaureate Middle Year and Diploma Programme students were addressed by Hashmi, who spoke about the 21st century individual and the insights one needs to reflect on in the present day. His motivational talk focused on several insights through its discourse. “Today we have to find all possible ways to make words our friends, working on “why” rather than “what” to give a full length meaning to our hard work,” stated Hashmi. He maintained that it is the individual’s duty to be in possession of his destiny and that one must be cognisant of their wants and desires, which is in fact the only way they can channelize their potentiality and transform it into practicality. Without actualising the potential of one’s dream, one cannot scaffold it into reality. Being born in the 21st Century is both fortunate and unfortunate. “We live in a country where tempers are ever flaring and everyone is on boiling point,” added Adeel Hashmi.
