LAHORE: Turkey Ambassador to Pakistan Babur Girgin met Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Monday. Matters of mutual interest, Pakistan and Turkey relations and promotion of cooperation in different sectors were discussed in the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said there were historical and brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkey and a new dimension had been given to these ties during the tenure of the present government of Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N). He said that Pakistan and Turkey had a similar view on international issues and people of the two countries stood by each other in difficult circumstances. He said that there was a strong relationship of mutual trust and respect between Pakistan and Turkey, which had turned into strong economic relations. Shehbaz said that Turkey had made rapid progress under the leadership of Recep Tayyip Erdogan which was a role model for other nations. He said that hearts of peoples of both the countries beat together and Turkey had fully supported Pakistan in every hour of need. Turkey ambassador said that Turkey and Pakistan had deep-rooted relations and Turkey would take effective measures to further promote ties with Punjab. Turk Consul General in Lahore Serdar Deniz, Provincial Minister Rana Sanaullah, Khawaja Ahmed Hasaan and Chief Secretary were also present on the occasion.
