ISLAMABAD: The Lahore show of the Pakistan Peoples Party forced the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N to rethink their policy of reconciliation with them and it has been decided that government will not spare the PPP from now on, sources disclosed. The ruling party has awarded tickets of mayor and deputy mayors mostly to the relatives of parliamentarians and ministers instead of dedicated party workers in Punjab. Sources told daily times that the prime minister chaired a meeting of the PML-N Punjab at Prime Minister House to finalise candidates for the slots of mayor, deputy mayor and chairman district council. This meeting continued for two days and the prime minister has given approval of majority candidates recommended to him. The majority of the candidates are relatives of the members of the parliament belonging to PML-N and federal ministers. However, the meeting seriously discussed the PPP’s central leadership activities in Lahore over the last few days, especially the speeches of chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari against the leadership of PML N. The participants, including some senior federal and provincial ministers, were of the view that now enough was enough, and it was mandatory for the government to respond the baseless allegations of Bilawal, sources told. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari chanted slogans against interior minister Chaudhry Nisar at his party worker meetings. On this, sources said that Chaudhry Nisar made it clear to the prime minister that he would respond to all the allegations of Bilawal in a strong way because it was unacceptable for him to tolerate such baseless allegations, sources said. It was decided in the meeting that the Peoples’ Party would now get a strong response from the ruling party on every issue. However, the prime minister directed Rana Sana Ullah, Chaudhry Nisar and others not to use the inflammatory language being used by the opposition parties.
