LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered the removal of banned cricketer Nasir Jamshed’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL). Nasir Jamshed’s lawyer Ali Raza remained adamant that his client’s name had been unlawfully included in the ECL. Ali Raza said: “It was illegal to put Nasir’s name in ECL. FIA and Interior ministry had no right to do so.” Speaking on the behalf of Interior ministry, Deputy Attorney General informed the court that Nasir’s name was placed after recommendation from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). FIA lawyer told the court that Interior Ministry holds the authority to include people in ECL. The lawyer also informed the court that there was currently no inquiry being conducted against Nasir by FIA. Nasir was handed a 10-year ban by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over his involvement in the spot-fixing case in Pakistan Super League (PSL) in 2017.
