ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal in a meeting with Britain’s High Commissioner Thomas Drew extended invitation to the English Cricket team to play a cricket series in Pakistan. Iqbal informed Drew regarding Pakistan’s efforts in establishing a secured environment for international players. He said that the recent Pakistan Super League (PSL) matches and West-Indies series were the fruits of collective efforts for peace. The federal minister added that Pakistan had suffered a lot under the clutches of extremism and terrorism. However, he said with pride, all the sacrifices and efforts to curb terrorism paid off with the security situation being relatively stable. Drew acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts in the war against terror and vowed assistance to Pakistani students who wish to study in Britain.
