SHIKARPUR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Member of National Assembly Aftab Shahban Mirani has said that the PPP was trying its level best to reduce poverty and want to improve the socio-economic life of the people by adopting the Skill Development policy under the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Youth Development Programme (BBSYDP) in the country. Under this programme, he said that scores of unemployed youngsters were being provided technical education and practical training through technical institutions of Sindh and other provinces in the country every year through the same programme. He added that BBSYDP was started by late prime minister Shaheed Benazir Bhutto during her government. Aftab Shahban Mirani was the chief guest at the Vocational Institute Boys, Shikarpur. Mirani further said that the government was paying special attention towards the promotion of education and technical education especially in order to enable the youth to seek jobs and earn the livelihood for their families privately with the help of technical education/training. Besides, all out efforts were being made to provide jobs in government departments by the government. He called for the youth to elicit benefit from technical education or training systems which were introduced in technical institutions to overcome the unemployment problems faced by them. Mirani on this occasion announced to donate 30 computers for the Vocational Institute Boys, Shikarpur with the support of funds which would be provided by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. Mirani distributed certificates and toolkits amongst the 100 students who had passed three months of technical training in electronics, welding and computer related short courses.
