LAHORE: Acclaimed film and drama artist Rashid Mehmood on Monday said that Pakistan film as well as drama industry have entered a new phase which promises to bring the lost glory of the country’s showbiz industry. Addressing the attendees at an event jointly arranged by Pakistan Adbi Forum and Columnist Club at Alhamra Art Centre, Mehmood said that the showbiz industry has entered a new era, which guarantees revival of TV and cinema in the country. The event, organised to celebrate Mehmood’s legacy was graced by the veteran actor himself, PILAC Director General Dr Sughra Sadaf, Tahir Server Meer, Asim Bukhari, Amjad Iqbal, Khalid Irshad Sufi and Safdar Ali Khan among others. Speaking on occassion, Pakistan Adbi Forum Chairman Zabeeh Ullah Balaggan said that this forum was founded by renowned Pakistani poet, journalist and dramatist Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi, who on every platform represented the literary society and strongly believed that literary evolution would be stagnant without the respective community. He also lauded Mehmood for his services to Lollywood and the drama industry. Executive Director Alhamra Arts Council Captain (R) Atta Muhammad Khan while addressing the evening, praised the role and efforts of Rashid Mehmood. He talked about a number of achievements concerning the actor’s contribution within the domain of the film and drama industry. Atta Muhammad Khan added that the country’s artists are precious assets and that they are cultural ambassadors of Pakistan around the globe. Pictures from the event
