LAHORE: Inspector General Police Punjab Captain (r) Arif Nawaz Khan said on Saturday that modern means of scientific based investigation should be employed for quick resolution of Zainab murder case. “DNA test of all dubious persons should be taken ensuring cooperation of NADRA related information so that ruthless culprit should be met with its consequences,” he said. He further said that by keeping trust of local people and claimants, full cooperation should be acquired and investigation team of Police should be briefed completely for diligent performance of their duties. He expressed these views while addressing to police officers in session of Zainab Murder case at IG House. JIT head RPO Multan Muhammad Idrees, RPO Sheikhupura Zulfqar Hameed, Kasur DPO Zahid Nawaz Marwat and other officers of JIT were also present in this session. Some officers also attended this session via video link. Operations Addl IG Amir Zulfqar Khan, Investigation Addl IG Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh, Legal AIG Abdul Rab and Monitoring AIG Ahsan Yunis were also present in this session. JIT Head M Idrees and other members briefed the IGP about current situation and details of Zainab murder case and all aspects of murder were judged in details. The IGP directed the officers the whole nation wanted the killer to be arrested. “Therefore, by making the proceedings of investigation speedier, this case should be solved soon. The investigation compass should be extended to other departments for cooperation so that there should be no stones unturned for provision of justice to heirs of deceased Zainab,” he said.
