DERA GHAZI KHAN – The intelligence agencies arrested activist of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) – Asif Chotu – during an operation in Dera Ghazi Khan on Monday. According to a private TV channel, Asif Chotu – who carried a head money of Rs 10 million – was on the most wanted terrorist list of the law enforcement agencies. He was shifted to some undisclosed location after the arrest. Rizwan alias Nasir alias Asif Chotu was a resident of Muzaffargarh. Asif Chotu along with four of his accomplices carried out target killing of two Iranian engineers Murtaza and Ali Muhammad, who were working on Clifton Bridge, in the year 1998. Asif Chotu also murdered PSO Managing Director Shoukat Raza in Clifton. Asif Chotu group also shot dead the then PIA chairman and son of former army general Musa Khan in Jamshaid Quarters area. Several cases have been registered against Asif Chotu in Karachi but police failed to arrest him. Asif Chotu had joined banned Sipah-e-Sahaba in the nineties. He was then appointed commander of banned outfit Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in Karachi and after the death of Malik Ishaq, he was appointed the chief of LeJ.
