Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has supported the proposal given by Sikh Community leaders which suggests binding Indian Sikh Pilgrims to carry dollars with them instead of Indian Rupee. Advisor on Finance and other stakeholders will decide with consensus. Governor informed that the government was setting out target of annual 3 Billion Dollars revenue by promoting religious tourism. On 550th Birthday of Baba Guru Nanak, for first time in history, visa will be provided to ten thousand Indian and one lac non-indian Sikh Pilgrims. Residence of Sardar Bhagat Singh will also be renovated. All projects in Nankana Sahab including renovation of Railway Station will be completed before November. He was addressing press conference at Nanakana Sahab after visiting DC Office and Gurdwara Janamsathan. In Past, only three thousand visas were awarded to Sikh Pilgrims but we have decided to award ten thousand visas and all institutions are making unanimous strategy to turn this proposal into reality. We will provide fool proof security to all Sikh Pilgrims. We have established committee under leadership of Commission Lahore which is working to arrange fool proof arrangements for Sikh Pilgrims. In past, millions of rupees were spent on clean drinking water but 90 percent filtration plants are dysfunctional. We have made Punjab Aab e Pak Authority which will provide drinking water to people of Punjab. We have completed authority board. Our focus will be on areas where water borne diseases are costing lives. No one will be allowed to embezzle even single penny from funds of Punjab Aab e Pak Authority. Prime Minister Imran Khan is also trying to establish peaceful relations with India but Indian stubbornness is obstacle. We will keep raising the voice about Kashmir on all forums. Sikh leaders provided suggestion that Sikh Pilgrims must be made bound to carry dollars instead of Indian Rupee which will also be beneficial for Pakistan economy but final decision will be taken by Advisor on Finance by consensus of other stakeholders. Earlier, Governor also visited the residence of first ever Sikh Public Relation Officer to Governor Punjab Sardar Pawan Singh Arora in Nankana Sahab and acknowledged the services of his family for the Sikh community.
