KARACHI: Traffic police have announced its plan to manage traffic during the upcoming T20 cricket series between Pakistan and West Indies.
During the three days on which the matches will be played – April 1, 2 and 3 – all roads rom Karsaz to the National Stadium of Karachi will be blocked for traffic, which will instead be diverted towards Drigh Road and then towards Rashid Minhas Road.
According to the plan given by the traffic police, the road from Rashid Minhas Road that goes towards Dalmia and then the National Stadium will also be closed, along with the University Road from NIPA to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum and new MA Jinnah Road.
Liaquatabad Road 10 which leads to the National Stadium will be closed as well and traffic will instead be diverted towards Karimabad and Aisha Manzil.
Those attending the match will be provided with parking spaces at the Hakeem Saeed Ground, Urdu University Ground and Sindh Bazaar Ground.
Earlier this month, the city successfully hosted the Pakistan Super League final with an identical traffic plan. Traffic police said in a statement that it was all set for arrangements to be put in place for the upcoming series.
