The rivalry of US and Iran has completed more than four decades. Before 1979’s and Iran’s Islamic revolution, Iran and US were one of the best allies during Shah Reza Pahalvi’s reign. However, after Shah’s overthrow, the alternations of occasions made them worst of enemies. Garry G Sick in his book, “All Fall Down: America’s tragic encounter with Iran” puts a chronologically position of 444-day crisis of Tehran hostages. Moreover, Sick finds out that the after failing miserably to have control over Iran. Following this, Iran remains totally reluctant to show any flexibility as yet. And as a result of non-flexibility of the two,the world has reached on the edge of a disastrous war. No doubt, at the time of Obama’s Presidency, Iran and US relations were improving due to so-called Nuclear Deal among the nations. However, a U-turn occurred. When a hawkish personality- Donald Trump-was elected, he backed off from the nuclear deal. He has a clear pretext. He reiterated that Iran supports terrorism and is putting the world into threats. As a result, the Deal came to a drastic end. Moreover, after constant escalation between them on 8th April 2019 US labeled Iran’s Revolutionary Guard as a foreign to maintain peace in a nation and no other country has right to call it terrorist. US is the super power and Iran is among one of the two main regional powers in Middle East. Neither of their ego lets them step back. Following this, on 27 December 2019 Iran allied with Iraq attacked on a US base military killing an American Civilian Contractor. After continuous conflicts, US splashed a devising war by killing the chief of Quds Force Gen Qassem Soleimani in a US drone strike near Baghdad International Airport on 3rd January 2020, along with Iraqi Paramilitary commander Abu Mahdi al Muhandis. No one goes on a war to eradicate war but President Donald Trump thinks the opposite. Many political analysts including Fareed Zakaria, Noam Chomsky and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger have opined that Trump is intentionally trying to escalate conflict with Iran According to Mr. Trump general Solemani was directly or indirectly responsible for the deaths of millions of people. He had ended a war. But everyone knows it is the beginning of a war, because Gen Soleimani was the hero and a legendary icon for Iranians. Besides, no one goes on a war to eradicate war but President Donald Trump thinks the opposite. Many political analysts including Fareed Zakaria, Noam Chomsky and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger have opined that Trump is intentionally trying to escalate conflict with Iran. The sole reason behind this is the upcoming elections in the United States and delaying the impeachment process against Donald Trump. And hehas a plan to get re-elected however this will be merely in his dreams. Moreover, in 2013, Donald Trump tweeted twice on Iran. Firstly, he tweeted, “I predict that president Obama will at some point attack Iran in order to save face!” then he retweeted that,” Remember what I previously said… Obama will someday attack Iran in order to show how tough he is.” That might be what he is trying to do. Last year, he was accused with impeachment due to abusing his powers. Similarly, during his election campaign Trump promised that he would end interminable wars but it looks like his all promises were a source to reach the White House became his actions and his words during election campaign do not match. Lately, the United States had denied a visa for Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javed Zarif that would have let him to attend the meeting of United Nations Security Council in New York. United States has not learnt anything from history. Seventeenyears back, when president Bush declared a war on Iraq and killed Saddam Hussain with no tough reasons for going on a war, made a notorious image of United States. Following the same criteria of threat, the United States is known to have initiated the act of risk, danger and threat in modern history. No one knows who the actual reason is behind the conflict but everyone knows that it affects the entire world. And, no doubt, this war will inflame the entire the world in general and Middle East in particular. War is a disaster and devastation and the biggest example is the Ukrainian plane incident which Iran missile brought down accidently killing 176 innocent people. This should not move beyond the limits of human capacity. Therefore, the United Nations and other powerful countries must play their crucial role to let the history be not repeated.
