The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) celebrated the Pakistan Day by cutting a cake at a ceremony held at the National Headquarters here on Friday. Chairman PRCS Dr Saeed Elahi, Acting Secretary General Khalid Bin Majeed, acting head of delegation of IFRC Thomas Gutner, program officers and a large number of volunteers were present on the occasion. On the occasion, Dr Saeed Elahi and Thomas Gutner hoisted the national flag amid resounding cheers and clapping with the national songs blaring at a low pitch. Special prayers were offered for the progress, prosperity, safety and integrity of the country. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Saeed Elahi said all PRCS branches have set up blood donation camps throughout the country to ensure supply of free-of-cost blood to the deserving patients. “Today is the day of renewal of our pledge to implement the Pakistan Resolution. Today, our young generation has been enlightened on how many sacrifices were rendered for creation of Pakistan on the global map,” he said.
