ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan said on Friday that those who could not get the ticket should not be disheartened and support PTI for ‘Naya Pakistan’. PTI on Friday issued 173 tickets for National Assembly and 290 for provincial assemblies. The PTI chief himself is set to contest election from NA 53, 35, 95, 131 and 243 constituencies. PTI vice chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi will contest election from NA 156, while Fawad Chaudhary was given the ticket for NA 67. Former KP chief minister Pervez Khattak and party leader Murad Saeed will contest election for NA 25 and NA 4 respectively. Aleem Khan will contest election for NA 129 Lahore. Ghulam Sarwar will contest election from two constituencies including NA 59 and 63 constituencies. Dr Yasmin Rashid will contest election from the constituency of NA 125 and Aijaz Choudhary is set to contest for NA 133. Shafqat Mahmood and Usman Dar will be candidates of PTI for NA 130 and 73 respectively. PTI has awarded 81 tickets for KPK Assembly, while 21 tickets have been awarded for Sindh Assembly so far. Similarly, 23 tickets have been awarded to candidates for Balochistan Assembly. While PTI has awarded 165 tickets for Punjab Assembly for general elections in July 2018. In a video message, Imran Khan said that it was important but difficult stage to award tickets to the candidates. He further said that PTI received 4,500 applications. Therefore, it was natural that every one could not get ticket. Imran khan said that PTI had tried to award tickets to competent candidates. However, those who could not get the tickets were requested to support PTI for ‘Naya Pakistan’. Moreover, the contesting constituency for Firdous Ashiq Awan and and Ali Tareen have yet to be decided by PTI.
