LAHORE: An intra-court appeal has been filed before the Lahore High Court seeking disqualification of Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan for his alleged anti-judiciary speeches. Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) Deputy Secretary Abbas Nasir had moved the appeal against the decision of a single bench that had dismissed a writ petition against Rana Sanaullah by declaring it not maintainable. In his petition, he had stated that law minister gave derogatory remarks against the judge who conducted the judicial inquiry into the 2014 Model Town incident. He said that the remarks of the law minister were an attempt to malign and scandalise the judiciary. He said that the law minister had also violated his oath by scandalising a state institution and requested the court to declare Rana Sana ineligible to remain a member of the Punjab Assembly.
