LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq said on Saturday the Dawn Leaks was not an issue between two institutions, it was an issue of national security and the nation must get to know who was behind it. Talking to reporters in Charsadda, he said the Dawn Leaks was not an issue that could be hushed up by a few people in a closed door meetings, adding that the people are keen to know the ‘culprit’. Siraj said that the secret meeting of Indian industrialist Sajjan Jindal with Nawaz Sharif at a time when India moved the International Court of Justice for release of the RAW spy Kulbhushan Jadhav raised questions. He said New Delhi was busy in propaganda against Pakistan and the obvious objective of Jindal-Nawaz meeting was backdoor diplomacy for Kulbushan’s release. The JI chief said that the tension with Iran and Afghanistan was the result of a failed foreign policy and it was New Delhi’s success. He said that Pakistan’s relations are meant to be affected as it had no foreign minister since long. He said that a parliamentary delegation headed by NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had visited Afghanistan but there had been untoward happenings since then. Siraj condemned unprovoked firing from Indian side at the LoC resulting in several casualties. He said that such incidents were intolerable as India was constantly targeting innocent people at the LoC. The JI chief said that the Sharifs had been in power for four years but they had given nothing to the people except price hikes, load shedding, unemployment and lawlessness. He said that all over the world, there were special relief packages on religious festivals but unfortunately, in Pakistan, prices of essentials were raised much before the advent of Ramazan. He urged the government to announce special relief packages for Ramazan and Eid.
