LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday dismissed a contempt of court petition against the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) administrator for not relinquishing the charge despite a court order. The bench held that the petitioner was not an aggrieved party in the case. Petitioner Ahmad Yar Lodhi, secretary of Faisal Saleh Hayat’s group of the PFF, had filed the petition. He said that Justice (r) Asad Munir had not relinquished the charge of the federation’s administration though the division bench had set aside the appointment of the administrator. Earlier, a single bench, while hearing a petition about a dispute in the PFF, had appointed Asad Munir as administrator, to run federation affairs till final decision. PFF officials moved an intra-court appeal against the single bench order. A division bench on February 2 set aside appointment of Asad Munir as PFF administrator and allowed the federation’s office bearers to function.
