Sir: Pakistani politics is changing with the power enshrined in the youth while the old guns are still giving their rivals a tough time. Talking about change would be incomplete without talking about its roots in the historical city of Larkana. The city gave revolutionary leaders like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Maulana Jan Muhammad Abbasi, who with his religious teachings changed the fate of the people, and the first female leader in the National Assembly Begum Ashraf Abbasi, ex-Deputy Speaker, and many more. With the local body elections round the corner, this time around the people of Larkana have decided to change their future. The Larkana Awami Itehad party has been formulated. With its symbol of toothbrush, the party has decided to stand against the corrupt leadership and notably as a pure voice of the masses at the local level. So the responsibility has been rested upon the shoulder of Bhutto’s arm, former chief minister Sindh Mumtaz Bhutto, who is the head of this coalition, along with former MPA Haji Munawar Abbasi who has decided to stand against the ruling party and be a voice for this coalition to change the fate of his constituency along with his brother Dr Safdar Abbasi, former Senator. Soft spoken Badruddin Abbasi has been given the responsibility of fulfilling people’s wishes through this forum; he knows the system and the city well. His shoulders had taken the responsibility earlier as well. However, former Mayor Qurban Ali Abbasi provides fuel to this forum by his skilful and administrative power as his political skills have powered the alliance. All these leaders and people have got united against the corrupt mafia. Now, it is the responsibility of the public of Larkana to strengthen the hands of Larkana Awami Itehad. M HASSAN ABBASI Larkana
