DADU: Resident of Dadu city and others parts of the district including Johi, Phulji Station, KN Shah and other towns are suffering with acute shortage of clean water, due to which they are suffering with waterborne diseases, Daily Times learnt on Friday. Four water supply schemes of the Dadu district suspended for past several years. The water supply scheme was inaugurated by PPP government in 2015 that was constructed at cost of 8.5 Million, but it has not completed yet. Due to which 0.5 million population of Dadu city faces water shortage and many of colonies including Soomra Colony, Raiwaly Colony, Shahbaz colony, Marikh poor, Chano Shah abad and others colonies water supplies was suspend for past three months. Resident of Railway Colony Sadam said that last six months drinking water shortage increased and he had informed to authorities but they refused him. Sadam said that now railway colony has no water to drink and water supply was suspended last three months. He said after shortage of water they were going 1 to 2 kms away from city to get clean drinking water but no one was ready to solve their fundamental rights. Talking to Daily Times Pakistan People’s Party MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali said PPP government has recorded schemes in Dadu city. PPP MNA Rafique Ahmed Jamali said that after the shortage of clean drinking water one more water supply schemes were started for citizen to decrease the shortage of clean drinking water in Dadu city. MNA said that in Dadu city shortage of clean drinking water was increased but supply was not suspended any colony. Another Water supply scheme of Johi town was inaugurated 2011 by PPP government and it had to complete within two year and 80 Million (80 karore) rupees was spent this scheme but it was not completed till day. 55 thousand populations of Johi town people are facing clean drinking water and different kind of disease are also speared among area people and 1 Ward to 10 Ward water supplies are also suspended since last two years. Talking to Daily Times Awami Ithad Party (AIP) councilor of Johi town Hanif Laghari said that 60 percent of drinking water was changed into slain water. Hanif Lagari that resident of Johi town was roaming to find the clean water 4 to 5 kms away from town. Mr Laghari said that per cane of clean drinking water was sold 30 rupees in Johi town and citizens wait morning to evening to get clean water like milk. He said that residents of Johi were facing great hardships of water shortage since last 8 years. He said that many resident of Johi town was migrated to others towns. He said that after shortage clean drinking water people were helpless to use slain water of canals and wells. He said that after using of slain water diseases of different kinds were also spread among children, woman and elderly man. He said that as soon as shortage of drinking water increased Johi town many animals were died during using slain water but no one health facility and doctor’s team have reached at Johi town. Talking to this reporter Pakistan People’s Party Johi town committee chairman Majeed Jamali said that it was said to be correct that residents Johi town were facing of water shortage and they tried to solve their basic problems. Another Scheme of water supply Phulji town station which is situated in Kazi Ahmed solangi coloney of Phulji station was also closed last 2 months and it was completed three times in 2000 to 2015 year in papers and 3 Million rupees (3 karoer) was spent to this for repair but it is also closed for negligence of concern authorities. Its machinery is also stolen by unidentified thieves. Resident of Phulji town station Mr Ahmed Mallah Said that last six months 1 lace population of people was facing clean drinking water shortage. Mr Ahmed said that substance martial was used in this scheme and bribe was embezzlement by local contractors, influential persons and officials of Municipal. Mr Mallah said that he has written to authorities to decrease the shortage of drinking water but no one was ready to solve their fundamental rights. Phulji town committee chairman Ali Kazi , quoting the report said that that it was correct that shortage of drinking water in Phulji town was increased few days. He said that the scheme of water supply in Phulji town was repaired many times but it was not completed series by authorities in back time. He said that he has started work to opened this scheme for citizens and it would be complete soon. The resident KN Shah town was also affected to water shortage and facing hardships. According to resident of KN Shah town Mr Naveed Solangi told that more than 20 colonies of KN town including Nathan Shah Colony, Shahbaz Colony, Syed Mahala, Umra Mohala, Jokia Mohala and other 15 colonies water supplied was suspended since six months and people of KN Shah was roaming 5 to 6 kms to find clean water. Resident KN Shah town fayaz jafari said that in KN Shah town per home buys clean water 150 rupees daily wages. He said after the flood of 2010 KN city hand pump water was changed into slain water and all water supply schemes were runied and these are not completed till yet. Pakistan People’s Party MNA KN Shah Imran Zafar Laghari told that back governments were not worked good for people of Khair poor Nathan Shah and PPP was trying to solve the basic problems of KN Shah citizen. Other city of Dadu district including Mehar, Radhan, Fareed abad, Wahi Pandhi, Ghoso and others parts of city clean drinking water shortage was increased but no one is ready to take action against corrupt authorities for citizen to provide basic right of water. After increasing of water shortage in Dadu diseases were spread among people to use slain water. As soon as water shortage has increased in district animals were died due to different kinds of diseases. Public of Dadu district has demanded to human rights commission and Supreme Court of Pakistan to take sue motto notice against shortage of clean drinking water in Dadu district and provide clean drinking water.
