DADU: Mercury rose as high as 48 degree Celsius in Dadu city and its surrounding areas as the city remained the hottest place in the country on Wednesday. People complained that the district administration as well as the health department had not taken any measures to establish heatstroke centres at hospitals to protect the lives of people during heat wave. Around 22 people fell unconscious at various places in Dadu, Johi, Phulji and Khudabad towns in Dadu district owing to heatstroke. They were admitted to private hospitals, as there were no heatstroke centres in government hospitals, including biggest hospital of Dadu district, Civil Hospital Dadu. Talking to Daily Times, a physician running a private clinic, Dr Zameer Ahmed Qumbrani, said that it was necessary to establish heatstroke centres at government hospitals. He advised the people to remain indoors during daytime and use ORS and cold water.
