LAHORE: Islamabad Police on Saturday recovered a nine-year-old boy, Umair, who was abducted from Lahore. Umiar was on his way to home from his seminary at Qila Lachman Singh on Thursday when kidnappers picked him, police said. The kidnappers then brought the unconscious child to the Faizabad bus station in Islamabad. “When the kidnappers went to have lunch, luckily Umair gained consciousness and managed to escape,” police said. On the other hand, a 13-year-old child went missing from Mohammadabad area in Faisalabad. The victim’s family staged a protest demonstration at Satiana Road and blocked the traffic. His parent’s said that the boy had gone to study at a tuition centre when he went missing. Police has taken the owner of the tuition centre in custody for interrogation. A wave of fear and anxiety has spread over the province following the kidnapping of more than 600 children from Lahore and other parts of the Punjab within a short span of time. However, Punjab police claims that most of these children fled from domestic violence.
