He said cultural heritage promoted social inclusion, mutual respect and intellectual solidarity at both national and global levels. Describing Pakistan as a country enriched with diverse languages, traditions and cultural values, the prime minister said this diversity remained a defining feature of the nation’s identity and collective strength.

Shehbaz Sharif said positive cultural values contributed significantly to tolerance, harmony and unity within society. He added that the government was committed to a comprehensive policy framework aimed at preserving and promoting both tangible and intangible cultural heritage across the country.

The prime minister said the National Heritage and Culture Division was actively working to document and preserve Pakistan’s cultural assets. He added that strengthening cultural institutions and supporting artisans and creative communities remained among the government’s key priorities.

Highlighting efforts at the international level, Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan was pursuing recognition from UNESCO for Ajrak, Rabab and Glacier Grafting under global cultural heritage lists.

He also referred to initiatives such as the “Creative Economy Accelerator”, “Digital Cultural Platform” and “Heritage Marketplace”, which aim to empower artisans, promote Pakistani cultural products internationally and create employment opportunities.
