Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited different areas of Taunsa Sharif late at night and inspected different arrangements, including the implementation of Section 144 amidst coronavirus pandemic, law and order and cleanliness.
On this occasion, he appealed to the citizens to remain in their homes and not go out without any need. The situation arising due to coronavirus requires responsibility and those who are treating the patients are the real benefactors of humanity. Similarly, administration and law enforcement agencies are also playing a commendable role in this regard and we salute those diligently serving the nation despite the threat of coronavirus. The government is keeping a close eye on the economic situation and the poor will not be left alone. Provision of financial aid to lakhs of needy families through Insaf Imdad Programme is a national record, he said.
Notables of Taunsa Sharif also called on the chief minister. The CM listened to their problems and issued instructions for their complaints’ redressal. Talking on this occasion, he said Pakistan and the whole world is facing challenges due to coronavirus and the citizens will have to adjust their daily routine in this backdrop. This deadly disease can be defeated by maintaining social distancing and staying at home, he added. He emphasized the Punjab government has taken every step and the citizens should also follow governmental instructions to remain safe. Usman Buzdar assured to continue solving the problems of the Taunsa adding that he has a close affinity with the people of the area.
The CM regretted that opposition is trying to politicise things while the people have fully recognized their duality. In fact, opposition parties have totally ignored national interest for the sake of their personal interests, he asserted.
A journalists’ delegation led by Malik Mansoor Ahmed also called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and apprised him about their problems. The chief minister assured that problems of the journalists of small cities will be solved and the scope of journalists’ colonies will be gradually extended to the level of the division. Responsible journalism is the need of the hour as it has an important role in raising awareness about coronavirus. The role being played by the journalists is commendable as they are working on the frontline like doctors, concluded the chief minister.
It may be added here that the chief minister visited the city without any protocol and administration remained unaware about it.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inspected the proposed small dam project at Choti Karri Mar in an area of Koh-e-Suleman on Friday. On this occasion, people of the area gathered there and discussed their issues. On their demand, CM directed the Commissioner to construct a school while meeting other demands including veterinary doctors, medicines and supply of wheat and flour. He also chatted with a four-year-old Raju Bibi in Balochi language and gave her some cash. He directed the BMP officials to let all the people meet him. As he was about to leave, the Chief Minister stopped to meet an old elderly Baba Bagha Khan and asked the Commissioner to entertain the application of local youth for the treatment of his ailing father.
The CM reviewed the project of constructing a water reservoir near Sanghar stream and observed that Koh-e-Sulaiman area has the rich potential of small dams to provide water for human needs. He asked the irrigation department to work on a war-footing basis for the construction of small dams. He also held an aerial view of different roads and under-construction projects in Koh-e-Sulaiman area.
Additional Chief Secretary (Urbanization and infrastructure), secretaries of irrigation and agriculture departments, Commissioner DG Khan and others were also present on this occasion.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inspected the THQ Hospital Kot Addu on Friday and directed to improve the arrangements in the isolation ward for coronavirus patients. He also announced to upgrade the THQ Hospital adding that required facilities will be provided for the treatment of the people. While talking to the doctors and paramedics, he appreciated their services for the treatment of coronavirus patients. The doctors and paramedics are our heroes and those engaged in the treatment of coronavirus patients will be given one-month basic salary. He asked them to work with zeal to serve the ailing humanity. The CM was also briefed about the facilities provided to the patients.
Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar condoled over the death of Syed Mehdi Shah, brother-in-law of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah. In a condolence message, he extended sympathies to Sindh Chief Minister and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity.
