LAHORE: PRA-24 recruits’ passing out parade was held at Pakistan Rangers Academy (PRA), on Thursday. Almost one thousand recruits from all over the country completed their basic training and formally joined the ranks of Pakistan Rangers. Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) Director General (DG) Major General Umar Farooq Burki was the Chief Guest of the passing out parade and was received by Commandant Pakistan Rangers Academy Colonel Mohammad Asghar Khan Niazi and senior Rangers officials. While addressing the young soldiers, DG Rangers highlighted that the soldiers are not only bestowed with the honour of defending motherland but are also selected to contribute towards security of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) by protecting the trade routes and installations. He also said that the soldiers must make use of their training to the best of their abilities and keep pursuing in their professional lives. While paying rich tributes to the martyrs, the DG said that Pakistan Rangers’ history is filled with examples of ultimate sacrifices. Their remarkable devotion to defend their motherland should be the guiding light for all rangers. The Director General was satisfied with the training standard and the passing out recruits’ hard work. General Burki also congratulated the recruits’ parents and families. At the end, the outstanding performers were awarded with prizes, recognising their hard work. The DG Rangers appreciated the efforts of the training staff, who remained committed to provide the best possible training to the young soldiers. The ceremony was attended by large numbers of civil, military, notables from civil society and family members of the recruits.
