In the wake of ongoing Me Too movement, author Ira Trivedi had called out Chetan Bhagat for sexual misconduct, according to Pinkvilla. Bhagat in return had shared screenshots of emails sent by Trivedi in 2013, in a bid to defend the charges levelled against him. Now, Ira has slapped legal notice against Chetan Bhagat and also said that Bhagat had lied to his 12.3 million Twitter followers regarding the allegations. Ira was in talks with Mirror Now. She said that ‘he is maligning my reputation, and that is why I’m taking him to court.’ She also released the complete trail of evidence to The Qunit. Ira said that after she accused him of sexual harassment, he apologised and said that it would never happen again after which she thought to let the matter go. But soon after his apology, Bhagat released screenshots of emails on Twitter where he said, “So who wanted to kiss whom? Iratrivedi’s self-explanatory email from 2013 to me, esp last line, easily shows her claims from 2010 are false, and she knows this too. This mental harassment of me and my family has to stop. Please don’t harm a movement with fake charges.” Ira further mentioned that Bhagat’s tweet where he claimed that she wanted to kiss him or smear the #MeToo campaign, landed her in trouble. Ira said she was being trolled for a week. Ira, in her legal statement, has claimed that Bhagat, through his tweets has tried to malign her reputation and accused her of being a liar.
