GUJRANWALA: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) registered two cases and arrested two accused of trafficking the men killed in Turbat, while raids continue to arrest the other four accused. FIA SHO Waqar Awan, while addressing a press conference, said that about 15 residents of Punjab were killed by unidentified persons in Turbat, allegedly attempting to cross the border illegally. After receiving information about the incident, FIA teams conducted raids and arrested two agents, Tanvir Cheema and Zafar Iqbal, accused of involvement in human trafficking. He said three youth of Sialkot and Jamke Chatha – Zafran, Ghafoor Ahmed and Ghulam Rabbani – were killed in the incident and FIA registered cases against alleged human traffickers: Tanvir Cheema, Rashid Cheema, Zafar Iqbal, Abid Hussain, Sajid Hussain and Haji Sabir, residents of Jamke Chatha, for allegedly taking large sums of money to send the killed men to Greece. Human trafficker arrested: An alleged human trafficker was arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) for allegedly demanding a ransom to release a youth. A police official said that parents of Rahib Ali, gave an application alleging that a land route agent, Bashir Ahmad, had received Rs 260,000 to send their son abroad, but the accused had abducted their son and was now demanding more money for his release. On the application, FIA team arrested the accused, Bashir Ahmed, in a raid conducted in Mandi Bahauddin. Published in Daily Times, November 17th 2017.
