LAHORE: The International Peace Conference at the Minhaj University Lahore concluded on Sunday. Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) patron Dr Alama Tahirul Qadri’s son Dr Hussain Mohiud Din Qadri chaired the closing session with the word of thanks to the worthy national and international speakers, guests and participants of the conference. At the conference, a declaration was passed by participants, stating that terrorism and violence had nothing to do with any religion and must be condemned at all levels. The declaration said that the misuse of religion and its misunderstanding by general discussion must be prevented and it should only be limited to competent scholars with concept of religious doctrines, beliefs and practices. It also recommended to establishing a council, comprising clerics, writers and scholars representing all religions, to develop a code of conduct to deal with the all forms of hate speeches. Gathering at the conference lauded the declaration and pledged that they would act as peace agents for the implementation of the declaration by using their platforms in every manner. The conference was also addressed by representatives of different religions and scholars like Dr Aslam Ghouri, Dr Shahid Saroya, Dr Rohan Gunaratna, Dr Adrian Feldmann Dr Herman Roborgh, Dr Athambawa Sarjoon, Dr Paul Rohan, Dr Andre Wehrli-Allenbach, Dr Sivaperegasam, Dr Hoseph Victor Edwin, Dr David james Bamber, Dr Cedric Aimal Edwin, Dr James Chann, Dr Kalyan Singh Kalyan and Dr Sarva Booma.
