LAHORE: Pakistan Hockey Federation has asked all the players who are jobless to provide necessary information about themselves for making efforts to get jobs to them. “For many, one of the prime reasons for the decreased interest in hockey among the youth of today is the lack of job opportunities for the hockey players. In the past, many departments offered jobs to hockey players on the basis of their playing prowess,” said PHF spokesman here on Monday. He said ever since, PHF President Brig (r) Khalid S. Khokhar and Secretary Shahbaz Ahmed assumed the charge, they have been striving to get jobs for the hockey players. For this, they are in contact with quite a few departments and have been encouraged by the response. PHF has asked all the players who are jobless and fulfill the following two conditions to contact the PHF. The conditions are the players should be within the age bracket of 18-27, have at least attended one national hockey camp (either for the national senior team or any national age group team). The PHF would try to find some suitable job for them, he said.
