Climate change has been witnessed drastically from the beginning of August 2019 and the aftermath of the unpredictable monsoon season has brought about a great concern. Wastage is a major addition to this catastrophe and plastic bags have become a menace. Sindh government issued a notification in this regard by banning single-used plastic bags, as announced by the Chief Minister’s Adviser on Information, Senator MurtazaWahab. The provincial government is pleased to impose complete ban on the manufacturing, sales, purchase and use of non-degradable plastic bags of all sizes and the ban has gone into effect from October 1. In light of this matter, we noticed a conversation that sprung about where renowned celebrities and personalities such as Shahroze Subzwari and Shaneira Akram. He took this talk on social media and spotted areas with stagnant water, ample lots of garbage that had a high contribution of plastic bags. This instantly had him triggered and working toward promoting cleanliness in his hometown Karachi. Shaneira Akram jumped on the bandwagon to further this information to maximize the reach and make the masses aware of what prevails in the society. Wheatable took an initiative to bring forward and instil the concept of a fit and healthy lifestyle and is hosting a duathlon on October 27 in Karachi.
