KARACHI: As many as 626 Sindh government’s official vehicles are yet unrecoverable despite clear cut instructions and the 24 hours ultimatum by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, it is learnt. The former ministers, advisors, special assistants, MNAs, MPAs are using the Sindh government’s official vehicles and they seem reluctant to return them.” sources told Daily Times”. While expressing his anger on missing of such huge number of vehicles, the chief minister had given a 24-hour ultimatum for recovery of missing official vehicles. “I am giving 24 hours to all the officers and former ministers to return the vehicles they are using without authority,” the CM said and directed all the ministers and public representatives not to use unregistered vehicles. According to sources, Sindh’s former minister for special education Ms Rubina Qaimkhani has taken away at least four official vehicles with her and the vehicles are being used for personal use. The vehicles include Toyota Corolla for Secretary GSA-666, Suzuki Cultus for Regional Director (Applied for Registration 2012), Suzuki Cultus for Regional Director (Applied for Registration 2012) and Suzuki Cultus for Regional Director (Applied for Registration 2012). The former minister has not yet returned the official vehicles after de-notification of portfolio of Special Education Department from her despite of many letters and reminders. Former principal secretary to CM Alam Din Bullo also refused to return official vehicle Toyota Corolla GS190-C to Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority. The vehicle was allotted to him when he was administrative secretary of the authority. Ex minister STEVTA Sadiq Ali Memon is still using official vehicle i.e. Suzuki Cultus GS-6882, Muhammad Siddique Memon/received by Ghulam Sarwar Mangi, SO (Gen) CM Secretariat (Suzuki Alto GSA-504), Baber Ali Jalbani, DS Staff to CM (Suzuki Cultus GS-9287), Muhammad Jaffar Abbasi, ex-MD Stevta (Suzuki Alto GSA-367), Nadeem Ahmed Shaikh, Ex-PS to Minister/Chairman (Suzuki Cultus GS-9233) and Bushra Bisma Shah, Ex-Deputy Director PPP (Suzuki Alto GS-9137). Moreover, Khalid Ahmed Memon, Director Administration has been shown using authority’s single vehicle i.e. Toyota Corolla XLI GSA-637 while his other vehiclewas deleted from the list. Syed Nazar Ali, Director Operations shown with Toyota Corolla XLI GSA-638 and Suzuki Cultus GS-9392 was deleted, Ghulam Sarwar Joyo, Director W&S (Toyota Corolla XLI GSB-772 and the remaining two vehiclesSuzuki Cultus GSB-991 and Suzuki Alto GS-9633 were deleted. While, Ms Bisma Shah, Deputy Director Public Private Partnership is holding charge of two vehicles including Suzuki Alto GS-9137 and Suzuki Margalla GS-0934. Furthermore, Abdul Shakoor Soomro, Regional Director, Karachi is using Sukuzi Alto GSA-463 and Suzuki Cultus GS-6903. And, Abdul Hafeez Abro, Regional Director Hyderabad is also using three official vehicles including Suzuki Cultus GS-6901, Suzuki Alto GS-9149 and GSA-506. Ironically, Abdul Hafeez Abro is also holding the charge of Deputy Director DVT Hyderabad and possesses Suzuki Alto GS-9147. The regional director, Sukkur, Khuda Bux Khaskheli is also using three vehicles including Suzuki Cultus GS-6883, Suzuki Alto GSA-308 and Suzuki Alto GSA-344. And, Regional Director Mirpurkhas Mohan Lal is using Suzuki Cultus GS-6904, Suzuki Alto GS-9135 and GSA-366. The Regional Director Larkana, Aijaz Ali Jamali is using Suzuki Alto GSA-502 and GSA-503. Four vehicles of the Sindh government are also in use of the authorities of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
