ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA), will make such policies which will not only help to control non development expenditure but would also increase revenue of the Authority to make it a more financially stable organisation. Member Finance, Fahad Haroon Aziz, expressed these views while briefing the delegation of the participants of the 133rd Public Finance Manager’s Course on their study tour to the CDA’s Headquarters. He said that the CDA was a financially self sustainable organisation and executed major development ventures through its own resources. Following the self reliance policy, the CDA would initiate such development projects in the city, which would generate constant revenue, he added. He also said that on taking over charge of the affairs of the CDA and development of the city, the Mayor of Islamabad and the Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz had formulated a comprehensive strategy under which priority would be given to the requirements, opinions and suggestions of the residents of the city for future planning and development. He further said that the planning had been completed for establishing a state-of-the-art landfill in capital city so that Islamabad could be equipped with this facility. Relevant formations of the MCI and the CDA were carrying out a survey for a suitable site for an early initiation of this important project, the member said. He added that the development of the new sectors, the restoration of development activities in the stalled sectors and the improvement of the road infrastructure of the city were among the priorities of Mayor of Islamabad and the Chairman CDA. In this connection, he said, all formation had been directed to submit workable suggestions at the earliest. IEP-RIC hold local council meeting: The Institution of Engineers Pakistan and Rawalpindi-Islamabad Centre (IEP-RIC) on Thursday held its local council’s meeting and discussed various proposals for the welfare of the engineering community. It decided to develop its collaborative partnership with universities for undertaking professional development activities. A committee was formed to contact the universities for the purpose and to seek support in its membership drive, said a press release. The Council’s meeting, presided over by the IEP-RIC Chairman, Hafiz M. Ehsan Qazi, also adopted various proposals for its infrastructure development. According to Engr. Shafiqur Rehman, the Secretary IEP-RIC, they will increase their membership by utilising the platform of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). The committee, headed by Engr Dr Attaullah Shah, will visit other universities and other relevant institutions in order to highlight the IEP-RIC activities and its objectives. The council also decided to take necessary steps for holding lectures and seminars on professional matters in order to equip the engineers with new developments, enabling them to play their useful role in the country’s socio-economic set up. It also discussed a proposal regarding the construction of its new building and the upgradation of the IEP/RIC auditorium. IESCO upgrades employees of different cadres: The IESCO has upgraded thousands of its employees of different cadres. Orders for upgrading the employees have been issued and as per these orders a junior clerk has been upgraded from BPS-7 to BPS-9, a senior clerk from BPS-9 to BPS-11, an Admn, Account, an Audit and Commercial assistant from BPS-14 to BPS-15, a Commercial superintendent from BPS-15 to BPS-16, a Line man from BPS-5 to BPS-7, a Line Man-2 from BPS -7 to BPS-9, a Line man-1 from BPS -9 to BPS-11, ASSA from BPS-5 to BPS-7,SSA from BPS-7 to BPS-9, a Bill distributor from BPS-5 to BPS-7, a Meter reader from BPS-7 to BPS-9, a Helper from BPS-5 to BPS-7.
