SSP West Dr. Rizwan said in a press conference that at least 16000 kilograms (kgs) of smuggled betel nuts and weapons were confiscated during an intelligence based operation conducted near the northern bypass. According to police, the betel nuts and weapons were being moved from Afghanistan to Quetta and Sukkur from Karachi. Police said that during the operation, the police was pressurized by influential people to release the suspect. During the press conference, SSP West told the media that the suspect Sadiq urf Bali and his gang were involved in smuggling weapons and betel nuts. He said that in 2016, the same group had killed a customs officer in Hyderabad when he tried to stop them. SSP west Dr Rizwan told Daily Times that the police department began from home in their battle against crime. He said that operation continued against the officers and officers who guarded the crime in police. “I will not tolerate crime in any manner,” he added.
