LAHORE: Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Ghiasun Nabi Tayyab said on Monday that a new mechanism for efficient service delivery had been introduced at Lahore General Hospital which had raised the confidence level of visitors resulted in increasing number of patients with every coming day. He expressed these views while talking to media on Monday. He added that a state of the art Central Research Lab had been established at LGH, which helped all the doctors and nurses in various wards of the hospital to observe diagnostic reports whenever they required. He said that the hospital had provided evening outdoor shift which had proved to be very useful for not only residents of city, but people from outskirts also. He added that with the completion of New Surgical Block, now all the three surgical wards had been established under one roof which had facilitated doctors, patients and their attendants a lot. Moreover, patients have been provided with MRI test facility till midnight. Whereas CT scan machines can be approached for tests round the clock, he said. Dr Ghiasun Nabi said that administrative doctors of the hospital had been directed to visit the wards on daily basis in order to resolve the problems of the patients. “They will also be responsible to ensure the staffs observe their duty hours and functionality of medical equipments,” he added. He said that a number of steps had been taken to enhance the capacity building of nurses and paramedics along with doctors through holding of training workshops, seminars and symposiums.
