ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar has constituted five benches of the Supreme Court, four at its Principal Seat Islamabad, and one at its Lahore Branch Registry, to hear hundreds of cases of various natures during the week commences today (Monday) to Friday. The Bench-1 comprises Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, Justice Umar Ata Bandial and Justice Ijazul Ahsan. Bench-II consists of Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah. Similarly, Bench-III comprises Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan, Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Faisal Arab. Bench-IV comprises Justice Gulzar Ahmad and Justice Mushir Alam. A three-member bench comprising Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik, Justice Sardar Tariq Masood and Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel will hear cases at Lahore Registry of the Supreme Court during the week. On Saturday, a two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Main Saqib Nisar and Justice Ijazul Ahsan will hear a case pertaining to exorbitant fees being charged by the educational institutions imparting legal education. According to Supreme Court’s weekly cause-list, no application for adjournment through fax or email will be placed before the court and if any counsel is unable to appear for any reason, the Advocate-on-Record (AOR) will be required to argue the case.
