GUJRANWALA: While addressing the media after the inauguration ceremony of a ladies park in Model Town, Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir said that Imran Khan did not do good by dragging the courts into the election procedure and that political issues should be solved by politicians and not the courts. He claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N) will win the NA-120 election by a big lead. Dastgir stated that India was involved in conspiracies against Pakistan and that Prime Minister Abbassi will be addressing the United Nations (UN) regarding the issue next week. He commended the Pakistan Armed Forces for their job defending the country. Dastgir said that the government was utilizing all resources in bringing relief to the people of Gujranwala; he stated many development projects have been completed during the current government’s tenure and that the Aziz Cross Bridge had also been completed recently which resolved many of the city’s traffic problems. MPA Abdul Rauf Mughal, MPA Taufeeq Butt and other political leaders were also present at the occasion. Dacoits, thieves on the rampage: Citizens were deprived of cash, jewellery, vehicles and other valuables in 26 incidents here on Saturday. In Ferozwala bandits looted Rs. 22 thousand, a gold chain and a cell phone from Arshad, at Ahmed Nagar armed men snatched Rs. 70 thousand, three cell phones and a gold locket from Bilal, and robbers snatched Rs. 14 thousand, a motorcycle and a cell phone from Rashid. In Sadar Gujranwala police station limits Rafiq was deprived of Rs. 63 thousand, two cell phones and gold ornaments at gun point, in Sadar Kamoki bandits snatched Rs. 73 thousand and two cell phones from Ashraf. In the same area armed men looted Rs.100 thousand, gold rings and cell phones from Amin. At Wahndo dacoits snatched Rs.70 thousands and three cell phones from Munawar, in Sadar area armed men snatched Rs. 35 thousands and two cell phones from Ali Haider, In Ali Pur Chatha armed men snatched Rs. 70 thousands, gold ornaments and a cell phone from Hafiz. In the civil lines area robbers looted Rs.22 thousands, two cell phones and a motorcycle from Yasir, at Wahndo armed men entered the shop of Abdul Waheed and looted Rs. 60 thousands and other valuables, in the Sabzi mandi area swindlers took away cash, gold ornaments and a cell phone from a woman, at Ahmed Nagar dacoits looted Rs. 53 thousands and two cell phones from Farooq. In Sohdra, Ishaque was deprived of Rs. 35 thousand, two cell phones and a gold chain at gun point, in Emanabad armed men looted Rs 27 thousand, a motorcycle and two cell phones from Saleem, at Ahmed Nagar bandits snatched Rs. 72 thousand, a cell phone and gold ornaments from Moazam. In theft incidents unknown thieves stole cash, gold ornaments and valuables from the houses and shops of Shoaib, Abdul Razaq, Sohail, Atif, Yasir, and Rauf, while the cars of Mateen and Naeem, and the motorcycle of Noor Ahmed were stolen from different places.
