LAHORE: The record of the Revenue, Health and Education departments will be computerised by 2007, Minister for Management and Professional Development Sardar Hassan Akhtar Moakal told officers who participated in a six-week training course at the department, on Sunday. The minister said the Management and Professional Development Department (MPDD) would collaborate with the Information Technology Department to computerise the records of all government departments. He said the computerisation would help eliminate the ‘Patwari culture’ from the Revenue Department and make officials at various departments more accessible to people. He said that his ministry was created under the Punjab government’s Vision 2020 to use resources efficiently. The minister said that it had been made mandatory for the officers to get training at the department to get promotion.
